Other Debt Options Which debt solution is right for you?A staggering number of households have an enormous amount of credit card, medical, student loan and unsecured debts that never seems to get paid off. People are struggling to pay their monthly bills, while desperately searching for a legal and ethical debt relief solution. There are more than 235 million pages on the internet offering credit card and other unsecured debt relief "solutions." Some are legitimate, many are obvious scams, and others are not so obvious. You should always investigate the legitimacy of any debt relief solution presented to you, and it is equally as important to determine the credibility of the company you may be working with. Michael D. Johnson, an associate with the Balogh Becker, Ltd. law firm in Minneapolis, Minnesota, described internet consumer credit scams in an article appearing in the Official Publication of the Minnesota State Bar Association in 2004, and most of the items appearing in the article pertain to the popular current term, debt invalidation. Click here to see the original article by Mr. Johnson. The following questions should be asked of any company you are thinking of doing business with. Our response appears after each question.
The Debt Jurisprudence™ process is not a "one size fits all" or "universal" debt relief solution. Instead, the type of debt, its status and unique circumstances for each account is reviewed to create an optimum action plan for that account with the greatest potential for success. For example, this can include up to 100% debt settlements, with or without incurring tax liability, Federal and/or State claims for damages associated with debt collector abuse, harassment or HIPAA violations, and viable claims arguing against adhesion contracts, arbitration awards, etc. Selecting a solution is a frustrating, emotional and difficult decision to make. The wrong decision may provide little or no relief, adversely affect your ability to find a job, obtain credit, purchase a home, or car. And money can still be owed for something you were not even aware of. For example, if you enter into a credit card debt settlement or consumer credit counseling program and reduce a portion of your debt, you will owe Federal, and perhaps State, income tax for any debt, late charge or interest charge which is cancelled or forgiven (click here and review pages 17 and 18 of United States Internal Revenue Service Publication 525 for clarification.) You owe it to yourself to make an informed legal and ethical decision. Our professional staff is experienced and continuously being trained to help you understand your options. In addition to considering your cash flow, you should also consider how your decision will affect your future lifestyle, career opportunities, tax liability and credit score. And yes, we may be able to help if you have been the victim of a program that did not fulfill its commitment. | |||||||||
